September 1999 I brought home a little white ferret. I was a senior in high school, and I couldn't resist the tiny fuzz ball. My parents were far from thrilled, I already had a few pets. They reluctantly allowed the creature into the house. Last night, we said goodbye to our little weasel. Mabel has been with me for eight and a half years, exceeding her five to seven year life expectancy. She lived a good long life full of stealing headlamps, chasing the dog, attacking feet, digging in plants, and of course sleeping eighteen hours a day. Mabel was a great pet, we have a lot of fun memories of her playful mischief.
